Annual Fund
When you give to Duke Divinity School’s Annual Fund, you invest in the future of ministry in settings here and around the world.
What is Duke Divinity School’s Annual Fund?
- Gifts to The Annual Fund are used to help students graduate with as little debt* as possible as they begin ministry.
- The Annual Fund encourages and recognizes the ongoing loyalty and financial support of Duke Divinity School’s graduates and friends.
*A Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree at Duke Divinity School requires at least three years of study at a yearly cost of approximately $30,000, including tuition and living expenses. Given typical starting salaries for pastors, any debt is challenging. A student who graduates with debt, on average, owes $34,000.
How are contributions raised?
- Phonathons
- Direct mail appeals
- Special events throughout the year

“Without financial aid, I would not have been able to attend class, chapel, morning prayer, special lectures, work in churches, and enjoy Sabbath, all of which have shaped me for ministry.” — Bonnie Scott D’11
