Certificate in Anglican Studies

Students in the M.Div. program interested in the Certificate in Anglican Studies should declare that interest upon matriculation to the Director of the Anglican Episcopal House of Studies and/or the office of Academic Affairs (142 Langford), so that they may be assigned an Anglican/Episcopal faculty advisor. The certificate is designed to serve the academic and formational requirements of those preparing for ministry – ordained and lay – in the Episcopal Church and other member churches of the Anglican Communion. The requirements for the certificate are:

  1. completion of 3 courses in Anglican Studies;
  2. active regular participation in the Anglican spiritual formation program for a minimum of one year and normally throughout their time at Duke;
  3. completion of one field education placement in an Episcopal/Anglican setting, with presentation reflecting on that experience within the AEHS; and
  4. satisfactory fulfillment of the middler evaluation with an Anglican/ Episcopal faculty member.
