Certificate in Baptist Studies

Students in the M.Div. program interested in a certificate in Baptist Studies should declare that interest, on matriculation, to the director of Baptist Studies and/or the office of the associate dean for academic formation. They will be assigned a Baptist faculty advisor. The requirements for the certificate are:

  1. completion of three courses in Baptist studies (“The Free Church,” “Free Church Theology,” and a third course

which may include a special topic in Free Church Studies or another elective approved by the director of the Baptist House) and
  2. middler evaluation by a Baptist faculty member.

It is also preferable that at least one field education placement be in a Baptist setting.
