Th.D. or Ph.D.?
The Th.D. and Ph.D. are distinct degree programs at Duke. Applicants are encouraged to consider carefully which program to apply for, and are discouraged from applying to both. People interested in fields traditionally covered in the Graduate Program in Religion (the Ph.D. program) should apply to that program. Students interested in study oriented toward the ministries and practices of Christian communities should apply to the Th.D. program.
