Meet the StaffRev. Susan Pendleton Jones |
The Reverend Susan Pendleton Jones is Director of Field Education at Duke Divinity School. Her teaching responsibilities at Duke have included courses on Leadership, Forgiveness and Reconciliation, and the Pastor's Vocation, team-taught with her husband, L. Gregory Jones, Dean of Duke Divinity School. Additionally, she was the project coordinator for Duke Divinity's $22 million building addition, completed in 2005.
An ordained elder in the Western North Carolina (WNC) Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, Susan has served pastorates in North Carolina and Maryland. She currently serves on the Board of Ordained Ministry for the WNC Annual Conference. Susan and Greg are the parents of Nathan (21), who is a senior at Duke, Benjamin (18), a freshman at Duke, and Sarah (14).
Rev. Paige Martin
Assistant Director of Field Education
The Reverend Paige Martin is the Assistant Director of Field Education at Duke Divinity School. Paige graduated from Duke Divinity with an M.Div. in 2008. As a student, Paige served in a wide range of Field Education placements, including North UMC in Indianapolis, IN and an international placement in Central America. She also did a Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) internship in the Urban Ministries program at WakeMed Hospital and traveled with Duke Divinity on two Pilgrimages of Pain and Hope to South Africa and Uganda/Rwanda.
Paige is a commissioned elder in the Texas Annual Conference, having served as youth minister at First Methodist Houston before coming to Duke Divinity School. She is originally from Albany, GA and graduated from Samford University in 2003 with a B.S. in Business Administration.
Kristi Spencer
Field Education Staff Assistant
Kristi Spencer is the Staff Assistant in the Office of Field Education at Duke Divinity School. She is a native North Carolinian and graduated from UNC-Asheville with a B.A. in mass communication. Her husband, Ken Spencer, is currently enrolled in the M.Div. Program at Duke Divinity School and is a certified candidate for ordained ministry in the WNC Annual Conference.
