Meet the Staff


Rev. McKennon Shea
Director of Admissions

McKennon is a United Methodist pastor in the Virginia Conference who served in the local church before being appointed to Duke Divinity School. He received his M.Div. from Duke Divinity School after receiving a B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College. He and his wife, Anna, worship and serve with the Congregation at Duke University Chapel in Durham. McKennon values the opportunities to meet and visit with those who may be called to graduate theological education as a step in fulfilling their calling in God’s world.



Morgan Hendrix
Assistant Director of Admissions

Originally from Raleigh, N.C., Morgan holds a B.A. from Kenyon College in Ohio and an M.A. from Duke University. Morgan lives in Durham with her husband Brian and their two dogs. Morgan and Brian are Episcopalians who worship locally. Morgan is available to answer admissions questions, and you might meet her on the road recruiting for Duke Divinity School.



Mary Caler
Admissions Assistant

Mary grew up in New Castle, PA. She holds a B.A. from Grove City College and an M.A. from the University of Virginia. She is currently a doctoral student in sociology at the University of Virginia, specializing in the sociology of religion and family. Mary resides in Durham with her husband Joshua. They are Episcopalian and worship at Church of the Holy Family in Chapel Hill. Mary works in the admissions office addressing general admissions needs and serving as the admission assistant for the Th.D. program.



Emily Thompson
Staff Specialist for Admissions and Financial Aid

Emily is a native of Jackson, Tenn. and received her B.A. from Lambuth University in 2004. Emily is married to Andrew Thompson. They reside in Durham, N.C. and attend Duke’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Emily fields financial aid questions in addition to addressing general admissions needs.
