Retreat Leadership
Nathan Kirkpatrick is managing director of Leadership Education at Duke Divinity School (LE@DD) with a focus on clergy leadership initiatives. In addition to Courage to Serve, he facilitates programs such as the Institute of Preaching and serves as the director of the Course of Study School.
Prior to coming to Duke, Nathan served as the pastor of the Asbury-Longtown Charge in the North Wilkesboro District of the Western North Carolina Conference and still preaches and teaches widely. An ordained elder, Nathan holds a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School.
Until April 2002, Russ Moxley was a Senior Fellow and Director, Nonprofit Initiatives at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, NC. Now he designs and delivers leadership development workshops for nonprofit and for-profit organizations, does executive coaching, consults with organizations to help them develop a systemic approach to leadership development, facilitates formation retreats, and directs the work of the Center for Leadership and Ethics at Greensboro College. In addition, Russ is a well-known public speaker.
Russ is the author of “Leadership and Spirit” and one of the authors of the “Center for Creative Leadership Handbook for Leadership Development”. He serves on the Board of Directors of Communities in Schools in Greensboro, and serves as secretary of the board of the Center for Teacher Formation. Russ received a Master of Theology degree from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.
