A different approach to strengthening your sermons…
The Institute addresses much more than the skills and techniques of preaching. It prioritizes space away from busy pastorates, helping participants reflect upon and reimagine their own practice of preaching. It does not organize that time away into “workshop” events; instead, it fosters fellowship among noted authorities on preaching (both recognized practitioners and Duke scholars) and other participants. And between retreats, it invites participants to work with a small group they have chosen from within their own congregation to provide feedback and constructive comments. By forming community in these ways, participants find nourishment for body, mind, and spirit that enlivens their preaching.
All tuition, room, and board expenses associated with the Institute are covered for participants. Pastors and their congregations are responsible for all travel costs incurred to and from the sessions.
