The Royce & Jane Reynolds Program in Church Leadership
The Reynolds Program in Church Leadership, part of Leadership Education at Duke Divinity, is a focused effort for renewal in the United Methodist Church through leadership development.
The centerpiece of the Reynolds Program is a yearlong, intensive course of study for clergy resulting in a Certificate in Church Leadership. The certificate program is a collaborative effort between the Divinity School and The Center for Creative Leadership, an international, nonprofit educational institution committed to enhancing the understanding and development of leadership, located in Greensboro, NC.
Twenty-four pastors will be selected every year to participate in the certificate program.
The generous gift of Royce and Jane Reynolds and the support of the Parish Ministry Fund make it possible to offer the Certificate in Church Leadership to 24 United Methodist pastors from North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia at no cost except for travel expenses.
Each conference cabinet has endorsed the Reynolds Program. The program absorbs the full cost of tuition and room and board. Program participants are selected by the recommendation of area bishops and upon the basis of an application process.
