Recognized as one of the most effective preachers in the English-speaking world, the Rev. Dr. James Forbes Jr. will be the featured speaker at this year’s Gardner C. Taylor Lecture at Duke Divinity School. The event is Oct. 3-4.
An experienced pastor, educator and religious leader, Rev. Forbes currently occupies one of the most prestigious pulpits in mainline Protestant Christianity in the United States – Riverside Church, New York City.
Sponsored by the Office of Black Church Studies and the Black Seminarians Union, the lecture and a related worship service are free and open to the public. Clergy are invited to register for a continuing education seminar, featuring Forbes and the Rev. Dr. Bob Seymour, pastor emeritus at Olin Binkley Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, N.C.
