Global Praise Service of Music and Testimonies
September 21, 2006
During this sacred service, Duke Divinity School students will offer multi-media and musical testimonies of their recent field education and academic engagements in Uganda, Peru, South Africa, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Central America and the Middle East.
The Divinity School views its international efforts as a way of contributing to, learning from and being unified with churches around the world. These interactions play a critical role in the education and formation of students and faculty. The combination of sacred global music and the witness of global service will provide participants with a glimpse of the school’s commitment to international ministry and spiritual expressions.
A light supper in the refectory begins at 6 p.m. This will include a tour of student displays of pictures and artifacts from their international experiences. The worship service follows at 7 p.m. in Goodson Chapel.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Office of the Chaplain, Field Education, Admissions, Internationally Minded People of Faith and the Office of Black Church Studies at Duke Divinity School.
