Biography
In her work on the Lord's Supper in the Afro-Baptist tradition, and in previous publications, Williams explores the social significance of the church's practices. Her most recent article Is There a Doctor in the House? reflects on the practice of healing in African American churches. Williams is a licensed American Baptist preacher. She has preached in various church settings in England and South Africa, while pursing studies at Cambridge and the University of Natal as a recipient of the Parish Pulpit Fellowship. She has been awarded fellowships from both The Louisville Institute and the Fund for Theological Education.
