Baptist Studies

Now, I saw, upon a time, when he was walking in the fields, that he was (as he was wont) reading in his book, and greatly distressed in his mind.
Like the pilgrim in Bunyan’s story, questions arise in an ecumenical environment that require Baptist students to think from the standpoint of their own particular history, theology, and polity. Baptist House offers courses that provide theological reflection from the Free Church tradition in order to prepare students for ministry in that context. M.Div. students may earn a Certificate in Baptist Studies by declaring their interest to the Director of Baptist Studies. Requirements for the certificate include completion of three courses: "The Free Church," "Free Church Theology," and another course related to some aspect of Baptist studies approved by the Director. It is also preferable that at least one field education placement be in a Baptist setting.
