Cities of the Early Church

Travel to the Cities of the Early Church * Aug. 3-16, 2008

Duke Divinity School will host a travel seminar, Aug. 3-16, 2008, to cities and sites related to the early church.

The program, to be led by Dr. J. Warren Smith and Dean L. Gregory Jones, will include visits to important historical, political and ecclesiastical locations in and around Rome, Assisi, Ephesus and the Island of Patmos. A six-night cruise in the Aegean is included. Rhythms of the day will include prayer, lectures and conversation along with exploration of the sites themselves.

We hope you will join us as we explore the beauty of the Greek islands, experience the holy mountain of Patmos, view the ruins of Ephesus and Rome, visit Vatican City, and conclude with a time of retreat in Assisi.

Double occupancy costs will start at $3,900 including airfare, bus travel, hotel accommodations and most meals. Scholarships are available for Duke Endowment and/or Western North Carolina Conference clergy.  Additionally, continuing education credits are available.
