Welcome to the Sustaining Pastoral Excellence website archive.

Launched in May 2005, this website served for more than three years as a forum for articles by and about Sustaining Pastoral Excellence projects nationwide and was updated monthly through December 2008 when publication ceased. Sustaining Pastoral Excellence is a grant program created by Lilly Endowment Inc. to support pastoral leaders through more than SPE 60 projects across the country. 

Articles, reflections and resources for Christian leaders throughout the church and church-related institutions now appear on Faith & Leadership, which launched in January 2009. The website is an offering of Leadership Education at Duke Divinity, which includes the SPE grant coordination office.
