Each summer the Duke Youth Academy invites 50 rising juniors and seniors in high school to participate in two weeks of intentional Christian living. Members of the DYA community are steeped in the ancient traditions and practices of the church: they study, pray, play, create, serve and worship together. Through the lens of baptism, students and staff discover the richness and joy of Christian vocation.

This year the Duke Youth Academy is excited to offer this resource for families, pastors and friends back home. The following journal will provide a glimpse into teaching sessions, service projects, Lectionary Texts and worship experiences each day. Even more, it will include quotes, quips and questions from faculty, students and staff. This journal will offer a sense of the daily patterns and practices that shape students throughout their two weeks on campus.

In short, we hope to give you an “inside look” at the life and ministry of the academy. While you’re not on campus with us, we invite you to embrace the journey through our online journal. Come…journey with us and investigate the way of life that Jesus calls “abundant.” (John 10:10)
