Flashback:
2007 Daily Journal

Every summer the Duke Youth Academy invites 50-60 rising juniors and seniors in high school to participate in two weeks of intentional Christian living. The DYA community becomes steeped in the ancient traditions and practices of the church; they study, pray, play, create, serve and worship together. Through the lens of baptism, students and staff discover the richness and joy of Christian vocation.

For the fourth year, the Duke Youth Academy is excited to offer a resource for families, pastors and friends back home. The following journal provides a glimpse into teaching sessions, service projects, lectionary texts and worship experiences. Even more, it includes quotes, quips and questions from faculty, students and staff. This journal will enable you to have a sense of the daily patterns and practices that shape students throughout their two weeks on campus.

We hope this journal will give you an “inside look” into the life and ministry of the Academy.  While you’re not on campus with us, we invite you to embrace the journey through our online journal. Come...journey with us and investigate the way of life that Jesus calls “abundant.” (John 10:10)
